Anyone figured out how to brand the S&Westward Bodyguard 380 trigger a more manageable weight?

The half a dozen threads I found on this really didnt have whatsoever solutions. Has anyone gotten whatever NEW info? Found a gunsmith that can piece of work on it? Magic spring kit or Apex parts? Dremel surgery? Anything? Or am I SOL?

I love the BG380 but trying to pull 12+ lbs on a tiny pistol simply kills the accuracy. I accept over 300 rounds through mine and I dont think its going to get any ameliorate past itself. I have tried lubes, dry out firing a zillion times etc. I fifty-fifty emailed Smith & Wesson to see what they volition do. No respond yet. A very bad side-affect of shooting this thing is I am now mashing the hell out of the trigger on my other guns which is causing low left shots!

Im about to buy a Kahr or something else.

This thing would be darn near perfect if information technology had a 6lb trigger pull!

After 25-30 rounds thru my BG .380 the trigger would non reset. Sent it back to S&West for service. About 2 weeks later I received the pistol back and gauge what... the trigger still would not reset. Soured me on South&Westward, I'll never purchase another i. I really liked the BG .380, much better/easier to grip than the LCP.

IMO there is nothing that tin be washed to improve the trigger travel/weight. That is the "condom" that S&W congenital into the BG .380. On mine I would pull the trigger all the way dorsum to the frame and it still would not fire, but as soon as I began to ease off information technology would. Suprise, suprise!:noway:

I was in the same boat as you every bit far as punching the trigger on my SR9 later on shooting the S&W. Personally I solved my problem by trading information technology off.

Practice, it's all most proper trigger command. I take a PF9 which is DAO, and I can place every round eye mass. Besides, most triggers will become smoother over time. Attempt dy firing with some snap caps, it should aid.

Practice, it's all about proper trigger command. I accept a PF9 which is DAO, and I can place every circular center mass. Too, near triggers will get smoother over time. Try dy firing with some snap caps, it should aid.

Its more than trigger command. Trying to pull a 12lb trigger on a pistol yous can only hold with 2 fingers is very difficult. For a pistol I will most probable be using under duress, I would similar something a bit easier to shoot well. The same pistol with a 6lb trigger would be perfect.

Im thinking I volition be checking out some Kahrs at the 1500. But 380? 9mm? twoscore??? decisions decisions...

Trade it in for a P238. I was considering the BG380. I am glad I went with the P238.

The Kel-Tec PF9 has a 5lb trigger pull. The Bodyguard has a vi.5lb trigger pull. Where you got 12lb trigger pull, I have no idea. I accept shot the Bodyguard, and the trigger is not that heavy. You need to practice trigger control.

Well thank you for telling me what I need without ever having handled my pistol.

I guessed at the 12lb figure as my trigger pull gage maxes out at 8lbs and that does not trip the trigger on my pistol. My point is its HEAVY. Heavier than I would like information technology to exist. Yes you hit a button. But I hope we can get back to the original question.

Does anyone take whatever info on how to improve the trigger???

From what I have found it appears I may have to shop around for something else that fits what I am after.

Keep an center on the classifieds if you are in the marketplace for a lightly used BG380 with a flawless 6.5lb trigger ;)

I accept shot one, and if yours does have a 12lb trigger, then y'all need to transport it back. Factory specs says six.5lbs.

if the trigger is that hard, i'd call up Southward&W'southward customer service. tell them nearly your trigger existence 8+ lbs (well out of spec and verified west/ your trigger pull gauge), they should send you lot a prepaid label/box to ship it in to accept a expect at.

Did you ask them why the trigger pull weight is out of spec co-ordinate to their specs?

Merely picked upwardly a Kahr P380 at the 1500. I'll try it out tomorrow but dry firing the trigger is Manner better.

The trigger on my Babysitter is long, only by no means heavy. I was really really surprised the first time I shot information technology how easy information technology is to shoot... [for a pocket pistol]

information technology is a very long trigger, i dont mind it much, but my girl HATES it, and she would never carry it. I'm hoping to find a style to modify it. i love the gun, she loves the gun other than the trigger length.
